I realized that my secret kept me hostage, and the only way out was to confront the matter head on.Writing and rewriting the book was my way of coming to emotional completion. In the process of my healing, I learned that my story is not a rare one.The number of suicides in the USA is higher then the number of homicides.Every day in America alone, 80 people kill themselves and 1500 attempt to do so. It is a silent epidemic. No one wants talk about it. (In the past, I sometimes lied when I was asked how did my husband died.) I kept silent for 35 years. There are millions of people like me.
